Surprise surprise. I am here for the second day in a row. I guess I have a few moments on my hands so I just want to kill this thought.
In the coming days I will find out how to customize this blog with games and links to other sites. One easy site to get to is http://www.kanoecafe.com Not sure how to do links yet but with a little playing around, which I am good at I will find out. Unless someone out there knows how email me at kanoecafe@yahoo.com.
On with the topic.
I was watching a commercial last night on TV and saw the strangest advertisement and the one seems very political in nature from Speedway.
The commercial was comparing the more expensive coffee shop coffee to the least expensive Speedway coffee. The premise was why pay $3 for coffee shop coffee while you can for .99 coffee.
I have something to say to that and I hope Speedway is listening. For one my 16 ounce coffee plain fresh ground not processed and bagged for God knows how long is $1.40. My speciality coffees range from $2.75 to $4.00 but they do not come out of a machine again fresh ground by order and fresh steam and milk. Try to get a fat free latte from Speedway with fresh ingredients. Again Speedway use package coffee, package powder latte flavor from a machine. Alot of sugar is added to the powder and alot of calories.
My wife Pat mentioned I use to drink that almost everyday traveling to Covington KY. True, because it was cheap and I knew it was cheap. Good gourmet coffee is not cheap. Fresh ground on the spot is not cheap. But we have to indulge in some pleasures in life and a good cup of coffee without the imitation stuff is a good way to know you are alive.I agree we need to cut back in some things and pleasures. McDonalds have done that for us. They are also going to the espresso style fresh coffee mostly offered in there new format McCafe.
So, if one has to downsize, instead of upgrade the size, you buy the smaller but enjoy a good coffee. An idea is buy a large and share with a friend. Separate cups of course.
Enjoy life
God's Peace
John
